Militant peasant group Katipunan ng mga Samahang Magbubukid sa Timog Katagalugan (KASAMA-TK) launched a week-long protest to expose and condemn the aggravating state of the agriculture sector under the United States (US)-influenced Noynoy Aquino administration.

The group bannered campaigns against land disputes and massive land-grabbing in different parts of Southern Tagalog (ST).

Simultaneous protests in Calamba City, Bacoor, Cavite and Batangas City were held from October 17 to 21. Local mobilizations were also launched in the form of protest camps in the provinces.

The week-long protest culminated in a tribute for Gregorio “Ka Roger” Rosal, whom the farmers in the region considered as a “peasant war hero”.
